Chitwan, Jan 10: The Bakulahar Hospital based in Ratnanagar of Chitwan district has brought the eye treatment centre into operation.
Lawmaker of Chitwan-2, Sheshnath Adhikari, marked the beginning of the centre on Saturday on the premises of the hospital.
Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Krishna Prasad Poudel, said that the centre was run with support from the Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, Chitwan, and Bharatpur Eye Hospital aiming to provide specialist services. A total of Rs 1 million was invested while the hospital provided a building for the operation of the centre, it is said.
The area has the population of around 200,000 people mostly inhabited by Chepang and Taru community.
